Police: Eleven injured during stabbing at Michigan Walmart

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office confirmed it is investigating what it described as “a multiple stabbing incident at the Walmart in Traverse City.” Sheriff Michael Shea stated that the suspect, a Michigan resident, used a folding-style knife during the attack. He added that the incident appeared to be a random act of violence. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino confirmed that federal agents are on-site to support the local response. Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer said she is in contact with law enforcement about the “horrible news,” offering her thoughts to the victims and the community “reeling from this brutal act of violence.” Traverse City is located roughly 255 miles (410 kilometers) northwest of Detroit.
