In one of the biggest shocks of the Carabao Cup, League Two side Grimsby Town eliminated Manchester United after a dramatic 2–2 draw was followed by a marathon penalty shootout. Grimsby triumphed 12–11 on spot-kicks, with Charles Vernam and Tyrell Warren finding the net in normal time. United’s Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire managed to level the match, but the Premier League giants fell short from the spot.
